Dear Friends of LARAS House:
As we enter our 8th year of service for the dogs and cats of Limestone County and surrounding areas, we would like to thank you again for your incredible support! Through the years - TOGETHER we have achieved so much! Hundreds of dogs and cats have received love and care, including: shelter, food, vaccines, spay/neutering, and great new homes!
The LARAS House 2016 Annual Meeting will be held February 22nd, at 6:00 p.m., at the shelter office, located at 1517 Hwy. 171 N, in Mexia. The public are invited and encouraged to attend. Our Board meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month and are open to the public as well.
We had many GREAT things happen in 2015! Our new Shelter Manager, Lori Hoffman came to us in May. Lori has extensive No Kill animal rescue experience, which she is putting to great use in our community. An excellent new group of board members have joined us with exciting ideas and energies! Several of our long-term and founding board members will be retiring from the board at the Annual Meeting, but will remain as volunteers. Many dogs and cats have been fostered, adopted, or transferred to partnering No Kill rescues and adopted into new communities!
The costs of daily expenses, spay/neutering, food, veterinary care, repairs to kennel facilities, as well as the need for additional kennels for an increasing dog and cat population at the shelter, will always be there and your support is vital and appreciated! Please consider a donation of any amount in the enclosed return envelope and remember, your gift is tax deductible!
Again, we THANK YOU for your help - past, present, and future! Be on the lookout for exciting new programs and opportunities to be involved with LARAS House as we work within the community to create a No Kill Limestone County!
